Every time I think I’ve completed our holiday shopping, I find something else that I must have. My husband and I agreed to not buy each other gifts this year and then what did I do today…I bought him gifts. I can’t help myself! You know that feeling when you find the perfect gift for someone on your list? It’s a great feeling, right? Well I’m here to help you find that perfect gift for the little ones in your life by introducing you to the Fisher-Price Hot Holiday Toys. They’ve compiled a list of the top holiday toys of 2013 and have broken the list into age groups. We’ve had the opportunity to test out some of these toys so I’m happy to give you my recommendations!
Top Holiday Toys – Babies (Ages 9 months – 36 months):
My son is just over 2.5 years old (31 months) so many of the toys in this category are still perfect for him. I do have a favourite on this list and I’ll tell you what that is in a moment!
The hot holiday toys in this age group are:
- Discover ‘n Grow Kick & Play Piano Gym
- Space Saver High Chair
- Infant-to-Toddler Rocker
- My Little Snugabunny Cradle N Swing
- Laugh & Learn Click ‘n Learn Remote
- Laugh & Learn Puppy & Friends Table
- Fisher-Price Rockin’ Tunes Giraffe
- Fisher-Price Lion Walker
- Laugh & Learn Singin’ Storytime Puppy
- Laugh & Learn Crawl Around Car
Our favourite on this list is the Laugh & Learn Crawl Around Car. Although my son is well past the crawling stage, he absolutely loves this car. You may remember the post I wrote on it a couple of months ago.
I’ve also created a short video to tell you a bit more about the car – notice the little fingers in the video trying to take the car off the table so he can climb back in.
Top Holiday Toys – Preschoolers (Ages 1-5):
My son is at that fun stage where he is graduating out of the “baby” toys and into “big boy” toys. At 2.5 years old, he’s able to enjoy toys from each of these groups.
The hot holiday toys of 2013 for this age group are:
- Little People Disney Princess Klip Klop Stable
- Little People Fun Sounds Farm
- Little People Happy Sounds Home
- Little People Stand ‘n Play Rampway
- Little People Disney Princess Songs Palace
- Power Wheels Harley-Davidson Rocker
- Bubble Guppies Swim-Sational School
- Thomas and Friends All Around Sodor
- Minnie’s Fashion Jet
Of these toys, we’ve had the opportunity to try out the Little People Disney Princess Klip Klop Stable (read the review here), the Power Wheels Harley-Davidson Rocker (read the review here), the Minnie Mouse Bowtique Polka Dot Jet (read the review here) and the Little People Stand ‘n Play Rampway (read the review & see a video here).
It’s tough to choose a favourite on this list but I think I’d have to say the Power Wheels Harley-Davidson Rocker. This past summer, he wasn’t quite understanding that he had to push down on the pedal to make the motorcycle move but I know that this spring he’ll be racing down the street and fully enjoying this toy.
Although he doesn’t have the newest Little People Fun Sounds Farm set, he does have an older one that he loves to play with. I also can’t say enough good things about the new Little People characters. He loves – really LOVES – those Little People. He always has at least two of them in his hands everywhere we go and he won’t leave the house without them.
I’ve also put together a little video of the Little People Disney Princess Klip Klop Stable so you can see how it got the name “klip klop”.
Top Holiday Toys – Boys/Girls (Ages 3-8):
Our son is quickly growing into this older toy group. I will admit, there were sniffles when we had to pack up some of the baby toys but those tears weren’t coming from my son!
The top holiday toys in this age group are:
- Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle
- Imaginext Rescue City Center
- Imaginext DC Super Friends Batcave
- Imaginext Mega Apatosaurus
- Power Wheels Corvette
- Jake and the Never Land Pirates – Jake’s Tiki Hideout Playset
- Mike the Knight’s Glendragon Castle Playset
- Thomas and Friends Castle Quest Set
- Thomas and Friends Adventure Castle
- Skate & Spin Dora & Boots
- Musical Adventure Dora & Boots
On this list, we’ve had the opportunity to try out Mike The Knight’s Castle Playset (read the review here), the Thomas and Friends Castle Quest Set (read the review here), the Thomas and Friends Adventure Castle (read the review here), and the Imaginext Rescue City Center. Although my son has enjoyed all of these toys, I’d say this is favourite is the Imaginext Rescue City Center. This is his first “action hero” toy and he’s having a lot of fun exploring all the cool things that you can do with this playset. I’ve put together a little video to show you more about the playset and you’ll see his little fingers sneaking my “props” during filming.
How many of these toys have your children tried? We’d love to hear your feedback in the comments below!
