It’s Movie Monday! A new series on Moms & Munchkins where I write about planning a themed Ladies Night In around a popular movie. Today’s movie is Under The Tuscan Sun. It is playing this weekend on W Network (check your local listings) so it’s a great time to start planning a weekend ladies night! Since Tuscany is in Italy, it’s a great time to bake some delicious Italian dishes to enjoy with your best girlfriends.
Under The Tuscan Sun Ladies Night:
Your ladies night could start with a little indoor picnic of champagne and chocolate covered fruit while you catch up on the latest news. If you wanted to plan a special feast, here are some delicious Italian dishes you may like to try:
- Pasta dishes (pasta salad, spaghetti with Italian meatballs, lasagna, etc.)
- Bruschetta and French Bread
- Pizza – a thin crust with Alfredo sauce, chicken, bacon and cheese would be delicious
- Italian cheeses, meats and crackers
- Tiramisu
- Biscotti
- Italian Cream Cake
- Gelato
- Canoli
- Ricotta Cheesecake
Of course you could just go with something easy like Italian soda and your favorite chocolate dessert.
For discussions before the movie and during commercial breaks, have any of your guests been to the area? Any great travel stories to share? Perhaps they even have pictures from a trip to the area. You could also go in a completely different direction with this and discuss what you would do if you were in a position to “start all over”. Would you move somewhere tropical? Go back to school? Travel around the world?

This is the second Movie Night of yours I have popped in on! Love this one too! Such fabulous idea!
Thank you, Stephanie! This upcoming Monday I’ll be featuring a movie that goes along with Halloween candy. I’ve been wanting to bust open that box of bite-sized chocolate bars!
