I hope you like pictures because I have a lot to share in this actor birthday party. This fun Actor’s Academy Birthday Party is set up like a school for actors complete with an application letter invitation, student services area, special actor training and so much more. There are so many fun activity ideas for this party and it would be a hit with either gender. It’s certainly an original theme and I love that there are so many ways to get creative with it.
I’m thrilled to announce that this party was featured in Calgary’s Child Magazine – head over to the magazine to read the entire article along with detailed party planning ideas.
In this post, I’ll share all of the party photos with you. You’ll want to check out the full magazine article for details on all of the ideas plus tips on hosting a party like this yourself.
A special mention to the creative Leila of A Little Pixel for helping me bring this party to life with all the fabulous printable party supplies.
Actor’s Academy Birthday Party – Decorating:
You can really do any colors with this theme but I stuck to a lot of black, gold & red – classic Hollywood colors.
For a different twist on an already fun theme, we set this one up like an actual Actor’s Academy with an area for student services, ID badges, certificates of completion, etc.
Actor’s Academy Birthday Party – Food:
For the food, I went with a simple yet delicious movie theatre concession stand theme with candy, popcorn, soda, licorice and more.
Actor’s Academy Birthday Party – Activities:
There are so many fun activity ideas with this theme! All of the little “actors” could go through a series of training sessions including drama charades, learning to dance for the latest musicals, going through an obstacle course to prepare for a stunt double role, and of course some fun makeup in their own studio chairs.
You could even give each guest their own star for the Walk of Fame!

Oh, wow! When I was a kid, my Mom planned birthday parties to supplement our family’s income. So I like to think I always had the best parties. When I was in about 5th or 6th grade, we had a Hollywood-themed birthday party for me, which was much like your pictures here. It was one of my favorite themes we did. My friends and I felt so special because we got all dressed up. SO fun! (Stopping by from Project Inspire{d}.)
Hi Aubrey! It’s so much to think back on parties as a child. There are so many creative ideas out there!
This is BRILLIANT! Such great ideas, Cheryl!
Thank you so much, Kristi!
