Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day – especially when breakfast is waffles! My latest article in Pink Magazine – Waffle Bar – is out on newsstands now and it’s filled with ideas for both a sweet or savoury waffle bar. In the magazine, I share ideas for decorating your buffet table, menu ideas, a recipe for cake mix waffles and more! You can read all the ideas in the magazine (either in print or online) but I’ll share all the waffle bar photos with you here for inspiration for your own parties.
Waffle Bar:
For the backdrop for this party, I used three foam poster boards from the dollar store and covered each section with wrapping paper (two in a glittery black and one pink). The flower “waffle bar” frame was created using an inexpensive wooden frame from Michaels and artificial flowers from the Dollar Store. Super easy to make!
I used various decorative boxes on the table to add height – such an easy way to decorate your table with no DIY skills necessary. Plain white bowls and dishes were used to hold the waffles and all the toppings.
For this party I set out:
- waffles made with an angel food cake mix
- raspberries
- strawberries
- blueberries
- cherry pie filling
- apple pie filling
- chocolate whipped cream
- hot fudge ice cream topping
- caramel ice cream topping
- syrup
- chocolate chips
- shredded coconut
- granola
- mini marshmallows
- vanilla pudding
- sprinkles
My favorite combination was a waffle with cherry pie filling, mini chocolate chips and chocolate whipped cream. So tasty!

Can I ask, does it matter that the waffles will not be hot? Lol, I don’t eat waffles, I have no idea if it’s ok to make them and then transport and display a couple of hours later. Sorry for long question.
