Summer is my favourite season. I love being outside and enjoying the weather while having fun as a family. My little guy always has a lot of energy so outdoor play is perfect for us. After the long winter we had this year, we’re not complaining about any of this summertime heat! There are so many fun summertime activities that we enjoy as a family. My son loves everything to do with water so we spend a lot of the time at the beach or the spray pad. We haven’t checked out the outdoor pools yet but it’s on our summer bucket list.
Favourite Summertime Activities:
My mom saved so many of our Fisher-Price toys from when we were younger. One that we started using this year is the Fisher-Price soccer net. Do you remember this one? Anytime you hit the target, you hear a “ding!”. We’re still working on teaching my little guy to kick the ball into the net rather than just run up and ring the target – but he has a blast with it so we let him ding until his heart is content. The new Fisher-Price Super Sounds Soccer net plays sounds when you kick the ball into the net and an announcer shouts “Goal!”. My husband and I were trying to play a little soccer game on our own tonight and it’s pretty apparent that we both need a little practice.
Since our little guy loves the water, we try to go out to the lake as often as we can. He enjoys playing in the lake, pretending to help Papa drive the boat, playing in the sand and just running around the beach. Then we always get to finish the day with a delicious barbequed meal at Papa & Nana’s campsite.
We have a few fun spray pad parks in our city so we enjoy splashing around there as well. We also can’t forget our evening cruises down the sidewalk before bath time. How cute does he look cruising on his Power Wheels Harley-Davidson Rocker?
As you can imagine, he has a great night’s sleep after running around in the fresh air all day! What our your favourite summertime activities to enjoy with your family?
