I’m starting the third week of my 4-Week Activia® Challenge and I love the variety! Not only do I have several different flavours to choose from with the Greek, fibre, no fat and regular types but there are so many great ways to mix them up to make your own creation. I stayed away from the chocolate bunnies this year (not even one bite!) and I’ve been satisfying my sweet tooth with fruit & yogurt, no-bake cheesecake, homemade granola and more! I find that the yogurt gives me more energy throughout the day plus it satisfies that mid-day hunger growl in my belly. My clothes are even starting to feel like they fit better! With some of my poor eating habits, I didn’t realize how bloated I could get with poor snack choices.
Recipes with Yogurt:
Yogurt on its own is a tasty treat but I’ve been testing some new recipes as well. I love dill dressings so I created one with the Activia® Plain Sweetened yogurt. It’s so easy to make but I’d recommend making it several hours in advance (even letting it sit overnight) for the flavours to blend together.
Yogurt Dill Dip:
- 1 cup Activia® Plain Sweetened Yogurt
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Simply add all the ingredients together in a bowl and stir well to mix. I used this in chicken wraps for lunch with lightly breaded chicken, lettuce and sliced peppers.
Raspberry-Lemon No-Bake Cheesecake Parfait:
I always need a sweet treat after supper and this definitely satisfies that craving. This recipe is enough to make four parfaits.
- 4 Activia® Raspberry-Lemon Greek yogurts (100g each)
- ¾ cup cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- raspberries
Combine yogurt and cream cheese and beat until well mixed. In a separate bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and butter. Spoon graham cracker mixture into the bottom of 4 glasses then top each with the yogurt mixture. Finish off with a few fresh raspberries on each.
You’ll find more delicious recipe ideas on the Activia® website. My husband has been inspired to live a healthier lifestyle as well so he’s started exercising in the evenings and he packs a couple of yogurts in his lunch every day. My son (almost 4 years old) learns by example so I love that he’s seeing us make healthier choices for meals and snacks while adding more physical activity into our daily routine.
