P.S. I Love You Movie Night

Back when my husband and I started dating in 2005, he used to write me a lot of love notes. Eight years and one child later, the love notes are few and far between. It’s a good thing I stored all of those cards and notes away so I can enjoy them now! Some of the notes are so sweet that I can’t believe he actually wrote them himself (although I know he did…the bad handwriting gives it away) and others are hilarious. My husband isn’t a romantic guy so sometimes I get birthday cards with notes like “cake is good and so is potato salad”. Not exactly romance but they are special to me. Actually, he gave me a card on my birthday this year (in June) with Happy Mother’s Day written in it! Oh boy! Well, at least he knew it was a special day…even if he didn’t know what we were celebrating! Why am I thinking about love notes today? P.S. I Love You is one of the featured movies this weekend on W Network (check your local listings) so it seemed like a great time to dig out those old love notes and plan a ladies movie night!

P.S. I Love You

P.S. I Love You – Ladies Movie Night:

The movie P.S. I Love You is the story of one woman’s journey to move on after losing the love of her life. Before his passing, her husband left her a series of love letters and clues to take her on one last adventure together. It’s such a sweet movie – you’ll need a box of tissues – and the perfect movie for a ladies night in party.

A portion of the movie takes place in Ireland so your food options could include some Irish desserts like any sort of chocolate and mint mixture or Irish Cream Cupcakes. Since Halloween will be a few days behind you then, perhaps you could make an easy dessert like a boxed chocolate cake, a jar of chocolate icing and top it with crushed mini chocolate bars from your Halloween candy stash.

When is the last time you received a love note? Let us know in the comments below.

This weekend The Notebook is also being featured on W Network. Get your box of tissues ready for this one! I absolutely love this movie! I’ve seen it at least ten times and I still cry every single time.
