And the Oscar goes to? You! Well, the free Oscar party printables anyways – I don’t have an actual Oscar for you. Sorry, you’ll have to see the Academy for that. These Oscar party ideas come along with free party printables for your own celebration – see the bottom of this post for details on how to access these. Do you watch the award show with your family? Do you host a ladies night in with champagne and bite-sized treats? Either way, these free party printables are an excellent addition to your party setup.
Please Note: The photos here reference the “2014 Oscars” but we’ve updated this free printable package without a date so it’s ready for any year! We’d like to send a big THANK YOU to Wendy’s Printable Party for helping us with the update!
Oscar Party Ideas – Invitations:
The Oscars are being televised on March 2nd this year so I’m guessing that’s when you’ll want to host your party! These free printable invitations are a great way to invite your guests to watch the big event.
Oscar Party Ideas – Decorations:
Black & gold are the standard colors of the Oscars. Thinking of stocking up on gold party supplies for your party? Good news for you then because gold is actually really popular for parties this year so you’ll have a chance to reuse your supplies! A lot of the gold party supplies featured in my party are from PartyStock.ca.
Rather than go out and buy gold cake stands, you can simply wrap a few boxes in gold wrapping paper. For my cake pop stand, I simply wrapped a square block of foam. Super easy!
Included in the printable set are napkin rings, circles and food tent cards. You can get really creative with these and use them on pop bottles, push pop containers, seating charts, and more. The food tent cards can also be used to write an award for everyone at the party like “Cheryl: Best Party Host”…just as a sample. {wink}
Also in the printable set are signs for the Oscars and a “the Oscar goes to” sign that would be perfect beside some cookies decorated like Oscars. Oh yes, it is possible…I’ll showcase these in a moment!
Oscar Party Ideas – Food:
Iced…Bake Shoppe always amazes me with their cookies. Aren’t these Oscar statue cookies brilliant? Yes, they ship throughout the US and Canada. These make an excellent focal point of your party table and can be awarded to guests as part of a fun activity or could be wrapped and given as favors.
Appetizers could include bite-sized treats and dips. Even a popcorn and flavored salt buffet would be perfect for your event.
My favorite part of any food table is always the dessert! These black and gold cake pops by Celebrations Cake Pops were absolutely delicious. The cake inside was red velvet – yum!
Push pop containers can be decorated with a printable circle and filled with gold candy, mini cupcakes or bite-sized brownies.
Sparkling juice in plastic wine glasses is an excellent choice for a family party.
Oscar Party Ideas – Activities:
Do you check out the nominees before the awards show and make your bets on who will win? Right on the Oscars official website you’ll find a printable list of categories and nominees. Simply print out copies for your guests and have them circle who they think will win each category.
Guests could be given gold wrapped candy for favors – no one can turn down chocolate!
