Hot Fudge Brownies:
For this recipe, I used Smuckers Microwaveable Hot Fudge (334ml bottle) but any jar of hot fudge (around the same size) will work just fine.
- Brownies:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 334ml jar of hot fudge ice cream topping
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Frosting:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup heavy cream (35%)
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Brownies:
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Line a 9" x 9" baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat together butter & sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in hot fudge and vanilla.
- Combine all-purpose flour with baking powder then stir well to mix.
- Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Pour into baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
- Frosting:
- In a medium pot, add sugar, heavy cream and butter.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat (stirring constantly).
- Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until they are melted.
- Pour frosting over baked brownies as soon as brownies come out of the oven.
- Let cool completely before slicing.
