A Construction Birthday Party is such a popular theme choice because there are so many fun ideas for decor, games, food and treat bags. For this party, I set it up like a construction work site complete with the coffee break room and work zone. I styled this party for Birthday In A Box and a lot of the party supplies used here are from their online store – check out Birthday In A Box for even more creative ideas for planning your party!
Construction Birthday Party Ideas
The introduction line on your construction birthday party invitation could include a phrase like “Get ready to have a load of fun!” or “Party Zone Ahead”. Birthday In A Box can create a personalized party invitation for you.
For decorating this party, I wanted to do something a little different so I set up the food table like it was the coffee break room complete with donuts, “coffee” (paper coffee cups for juice), vending machine snacks like chips, and brown paper bag lunches.
I used a peg board behind the party table for items like toy tools, safety signs, timecards and more.
I used typical construction colors like yellow, black and bright orange to decorate the party. You could create your own signs for around the party like:
- Loading Zone – perfect for the food table
- Unloading Zone – for the entrance to the party or the gift table
- Dig In – by the food table
- Caution: Party In Progress – for the entrance to the party
The activity area for the party also doubled as party favors. I set up an area for all the construction gear like hard hats, safety vests, safety goggles, and tool belts (found these ones at Home Depot) and filled them with things like measuring tape, chalk pencils and little flashlights. The guests were then able to take all of their gear home as a party favor.
For a party activity, I purchased a large cardboard house and some kid-friendly paint with paint brushes & rollers and let the kids paint the house outside. They loved this activity!
