Welcome to Party Tip Tuesday! Today we’re featuring the talented Tricia of Cakeadoodle! She designs adorable 3D cupcake wrappers and toppers like the farm ones featured below that I’ll be using for my son’s 2nd birthday in May! She will also soon start selling other 3D party accessories as well. I have never seen more unique cupcake wrappers than these so I knew I wanted to feature her here to introduce her to all of you!

1) What is Cakeadoodle?

Cakeadoodle.ca is my love for paper crafting and decorating that I get to share with the world. It’s a world of 3D paper party decor. I wanted a name that represented my personality but also was easy to remember once you have heard it. It’s funny how 3 years ago I didn’t have a clue what a cupcake wrapper was, and now I sell them to people anywhere from Transylvania to my neighbor.

2) How long have you been designing for parties?

A couple months before I got married in 2010, I took some time and looked online for ideas and inspirations for my own event. I came across these silly paper wrappers that went around cupcakes and all of a sudden I could not sleep at night because I had too many ideas. I was inspired and supported to try selling my own ideas in the online market place. I cringe now at the thoughts and photographs of the first wrappers that I listed and actually sold!

3) Do the wrappers come fully prepared or is there some DIY work required upon arrival?

All of my cupcake wrappers are fully completed upon arrival. You won’t need tape or glue, just slip the pre-cut tab into the slot at the back and they are ready to go. You can use the photos on my website for inspiration to add features such as folding out arms. All of the designs are created to be 3D and have elements that pop out the top and side of the wrapper. This makes them unique and great for photos. I am also currently working on matching items such as favor boxes, invitations, favor tags, tent cards, bag toppers, etc. They will just need to be folded on any marked perforations but other then that they are ready to go!

4) How much notice do you require for an order?

I find myself always adjusting my schedule week by week. I am usually booked up 7-10 days ahead for an average 5-7 day lead time on all orders. I offer color selection, monograms and personalization on every wrapper; therefore, they are all made to order. Rush orders (on short notice) can contact me 7 business days before an event. Items will be made next day, and shipped to you as fast as humanly possible!

5)What is the most original or unique cupcake wrapper you’ve been asked to design for a client?

I was approached by a lovely lady who was needing a bunch of Westie cupcake wrappers to go with Dog House Cupcake Boxes (which I also designed). This was the first time I was ever asked to draw something from real life. I was a little worried it would look like a cartoon, but the result was unbelievable. It looked similar enough to the picture that I impressed myself! The Dog House Boxes and Westie cupcakes were a great feature at the Westie Rescue Picnic.
