Rainbow Unicorn Party Ideas:
The Perfect Paperware
My rainbow unicorn obsession was rekindled when I spied these rainbow plates and cups at Buttercup Blossom. The colors are fluorescent shades of the rainbow and very fun to play off of, especially when I found the perfect wrapping paper at Michaels.
DIY Sprinkle Cake
My friend, the amazing Jenny of Jenny Cookies solved the mystery of covering a cake in sprinkles with her video. I couldn’t wait to try it for myself, although to make my life easy, I used a store bought cake. Your cake will become the highlight of your party table, topped with candy unicorns (made with a mold similar to this one from Amazon) and skewered marshmallow clouds for the perfect cake toppers.
Unicorn Eggs
I couldn’t resist these fun unicorn eggs from Oriental Trading; they are perfect for year-round parties as decor and a great party favor.
Mini Unicorn Piñatas
When I came across mini, unfinished piñatas at my local craft store, I knew I could turn them into unicorns! Hop over to my blog for my Tuesday Tutorial to find out how I made them; they are fun for each place setting or as craft activity guests can decorate themselves.
Cotton Balls As Décor
I love to find new ways of using old items for parties! I had a lot of cotton balls from a winter themed party and they worked perfect as cloud confetti scattered over our table.
Create A Simple Floral Arrangement
One of my best party investments was in bud vases. They can be found inexpensively and are great for holding a few blooms when you don’t want to overwhelm your table with a large arrangement. Cluster them down the center of your table or give a little height stacked on a stand.
Keep Your Snacks Simple
With kid parties, I don’t break out my fancy and complicated recipes. My rule is always fun sweets but balanced with a little healthy. I paired mini paint buckets of fruit and veggies with flavored popcorn and drinks. Guests can fill up the unicorn eggs with gumballs at the party’s end.
