For my first official date with my husband, we went to the theatre to see a movie. I was trying to be kind so I let him pick it out. I don’t remember what exactly it was but it was a terrible horror movie. The next time we went to a movie, I let him pick again. Guess what it was? Yup, another terrible horror movie. That was over 8 years ago now and I still don’t think he’s been allowed to choose a date night movie since. Now that we have a little one at home, we don’t often have the opportunity to go to the theatre to watch movies so we plan a lot of movie nights at home. This Valentine’s Day I wanted to do something a little different by putting together a little movie date night package. I created some free printables (I’ll share those with you in a moment) and I created a new popcorn recipe that I think is pretty darn tasty! These ideas aren’t for Valentine’s Day only – you can put together a date night at home any night of the year!
Printables for Movie Date Night:
A movie date night wouldn’t be complete without popcorn and candy! In our free printable movie date night pack you’ll find these cute “My Heart Pops For You” labels for popcorn bags.
As a sweet added touch, the printable package also includes a “10 Things I Love About You printable” that you can fill out for your date.
For extra giggles, I’ve also create a short Movie Date Night questionnaire for both you and your date to fill out. The answers you receive may be hilarious…or perhaps devastating…but we’re hoping for hilarious. Let’s just hope that he doesn’t pick a horror movie that best describes your love story!
Cheddar Ranch Popcorn:
You can’t have a movie date night without popcorn, right? Here is a recipe for Cheddar Ranch popcorn that is super easy to make and delicious! You’ll find the cheddar powder in the bulk section of your local grocery store.
- 2 tablespoons cheddar powder
- 1 tablespoon dry ranch dressing mix
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 1 bag microwavable popcorn
- Pour the melted butter over the popcorn and toss to mix.
- Stir the cheddar powder and ranch mix together and then sprinkle over the popcorn. Toss to mix.
What was the last movie that you watched on a date? Do you even remember your last date night? If not, it’s time to start planning!
