My husband came home with a certificate last week for a course he had to take at work: Hand Hygiene. At first I thought it sounded like a silly topic for a course but after reading the statistics about the thousands of germs and bacteria living on your hands, I was asking him to teach me his new tricks for hand washing!
Did you know that 80% of germs and bacteria are spread by our hands? Did you know that millions of germs and bacteria live under your fingernails? Major yuck, right? Don’t reach for those nail clippers just yet, I have a solution for you: freshnails – the undernail sanitizer
This time of year is particularly important for hand washing and sanitizing but we’re not always near soap and water. Not only is this important to stop the spread of germs—my son has severe food allergies, so we always have to make sure his hands and nails are very clean.
With freshnails, you can clean and sanitize under your nails without needing a sink. This is great because we seem to be on the go a lot during this time of year. It’s small enough to fit in your pocket or purse so you always have it available when you need it. It’s also the perfect size for a stocking stuffer – find out where you can buy it!
So what exactly is in freshnails? It contains six essential moisturizers and antioxidants plus a unique blend of alcohol.
How does freshnails work? It’s a simple two-step process.
- Start by passing the pick under your fingernails to remove all the dirt you can see. I was surprised with how much I had under my nails! With the pick, you can reach so much more than simply washing your hands with soap.
- Next, swab the same area using the green nib on the other side of the pick to kill all the germs and bacteria that you cannot see. It kills 99.99% of germs and bacteria under your fingernails!
I’m always cutting my son’s nails really short because I’m paranoid about all the dirt and bacteria that could grow under there. I like to keep my nails a bit longer but I always find myself picking dirt out from under my nail. I’m so glad to find a solution that now kills the bacteria and germs instead of just picking it out. Now bring on the manicure kit!
I used to give myself home manicures using those little white sticker strips to get the shape of the French manicure tip just right. Now it seems like the only stickers I see are the cartoon stickers my son plays with! Now that I know I can keep the area under my nails free of germs, I may have to attempt some pretty nails for the holiday season.
This is now an essential in my purse and we’ve added freshnails to our hygiene routine. Give it a try for yourself and let me know what you think of it!
