Hop Ideas For Kids

We’ve all heard of pub crawls and bar hoping events but it’s certainly not something we want (or could) take our kids to! These hop ideas for kids are a similar idea but kid-friendly. It’s a great way to spend a day with the kids! Be sure to bring along your camera and a notebook (you may want to make note of places you want to revisit later).

Hop Ideas for Kids

Hop Ideas for Kids:

  • Plan for a fun movie night at home by having a Movie Night Hop Event during the day. Stop by a few different candy specialty shops to stock your concession stand, visit a party store for some fun movie night or Hollywood decorations, visit your local dollar store for some fun containers you can use at your concession stand (like popcorn tubs), and perhaps even a costume store to pick up a small costume that goes along with your movie’s theme.
  • A Park Hop is an excellent way to check out the parks in your city. Have your children help you map out various parks in your city. Don’t forget to include the spray pad parks! For your park hop adventure, you’ll want to bring along some sunscreen, water, a picnic lunch, swimsuits, a towel and your camera. Hop from park to park on your list, stopping at each one briefly to play in the playground, splash in the spray pad, have a picnic and take a few pictures. Make notes on the ones that your children like the most so that you can visit them again on another day. Hop ideas for kids don’t have to be expensive to be fun.
  • A Restaurant Hop is a great way to try a few different restaurants and (hopefully) please the fussy eaters during at least one of the stops. Stop at restaurant 1 for appetizers, stop at a second restaurant for your meal, stop at a third restaurant for dessert.
  • You may not be in Disneyland but you can still have your own Ride Hopper Pass. Create a simple “ride hopper pass” (a card that you can punch holes in when the kids choose to redeem one turn on a ride). You can stop at malls with little rides, a go-cart park and an arcade. You could limit each child to 2 rides per location and have them use their ride hopper pass to cash in a turn at each location. Bring along the camera as there are sure to be smiles to share!

I’m following ya from the hop and am so glad I am– I’m definitely trying bits of the movie night hop, my boys would love that. We’re riding the wave of life at localsugarhawaii.com and are enjoying the ride, one adventure at a time. I’d love, love, love it if you’d join us.

  3. Stopping by from SITS.

This is such a creative and cute idea! I love the idea of a mall hop for a rainy day. And the park one would be really fun-we have lots of parks we haven’t explored yet.
