This Boo Bamboo post is courtesy of our contributor Carolyn…I feel like I’m pretty “low maintenance” when it comes to my beauty regimen and I seem to always be pressed for time so I’m often looking for quick and effective beauty products. I was asked to do a product review for Boo Bamboo products and I’ll confess, I had not heard of the products until now. To research a product, I check out the website first. Boo Bamboo is a Canadian company and their products contain organic bamboo extracts, are rich in many minerals, and free of parabens and many other chemicals. Shortly after receiving the products I realized these products were indeed effective and fit my busy lifestyle. On the website, I found four product categories and a link of where to buy (you can purchase it both online and locations across Canada and US). Hair Products, Baby Boo Bamboo, Skin Care, and Sun were the four categories and I received products to review from the following three categories.
Boo Bamboo Hair Products:
This category includes the new Boo Berry Color Prolong products. The smell of these products was phenomenal! It includes shampoo, conditioner, conditioning treatment, and hair serum. I received all products but the conditioning treatment. These products were my favorite out of all the Boo Bamboo products. Besides the great smell (that I may have received compliments on when a stranger got in my bubble), the shampoo and conditioner left my hair soft and light. After applying the shine serum and blow drying, my hair was softer than it has felt in a while! After a few uses, I used less and less shine serum and my results of smooth and shiny stayed the same.
I also received Boo Curl Defining Gel, Boo Hairspray, and Boo Mousse. I used the three together and my crazy-wavy-frizzy hair was much tamer. Lesson of the day from Carolyn’s mistakes: You only need very little of each product. Too much product = crunchy hair!
Baby Boo Bamboo Line:
My baby isn’t much of a baby anymore but I ordered the Squeaky Clean Baby Wash & Shampoo, Silky Smooth Baby Lotion, and 100% Bamboo baby wipes. They were all very gentle and didn’t irritate my boy’s sensitive skin. The Bamboo wipes fit perfectly in his backpack, didn’t have the strong chemical smell, and are perfect for wiping up sandy hands and Popsicle faces.
Boo Bamboo Skin Line:
I took the plunge, and my mom’s advice, and ordered my very first Anti-Age Face Lotion and Anti-Wrinkle Face Cream…as a preventative of course! Light weight, moderate smell, and easy to use. It’s too early to tell if it’s working but my skin is soft. I rotated the lotions nightly but used the Skin-Balancing Face Wash nightly. The bottles seem small but you need very little to get a good lather.
Another confession: When I’m feeling lazy I use Issac’s baby wipes to get make-up off my face. They work pretty well but, thanks to my boyfriend, I feel like my face smells like dirty diapers. Thank you Honey! Now that I have the Skin Balancing Make-Up Remover Wipes, all my make-up is removed and my face smells better.
The Boo Bamboo products are concentrated so you don’t need to use a lot; therefore, the packaging is small enough to travel with. A definite must for my busy summer! I’ll be hauling these products with me to our many events. Anyone have tips for inexpensive carrying cases for products with a “spilling hazard”? Let me know in the comments below.
