Becoming a mother is such an amazing adventure. From the moment I found out I was pregnant, my life changed in such a special way. Preparing for the arrival of a child is both a fun and scary experience. Would I know how to care for the baby? Did I have everything I needed to bring him home? How do these car seats really work? During the exciting and overwhelming experience of preparing for a new family member some mothers may wonder how their lives will change when the baby arrives. Will you still have time for the hobbies you enjoy? Will you find time to get out of the house and enjoy a night out with your friends? Do you really have to trade in your skinny jeans for mom jeans? Here’s how I kept my cool after becoming a mom.

I won’t lie; there are many days when I feel very content to stay at home in my sweatpants and play with my son all day. Does that mean that I’ve lost my sense of cool? Absolutely not! When I think of what it means to be cool, I think of being yourself and expressing your interests as an individual. For me, my interests include party planning, writing, learning new skills and expressing my creativity. I started my Moms & Munchkins blog after my son was born because I wanted a place to put my creative skills to use. This was my first time creating a website and learning computer programming but I was up for the challenge. Over the last year I’ve travelled to Phoenix, New York and Toronto to learn more about this new venture and to gain inspiration. I think a large part of staying cool is continuing to explore your interests.

Becoming a Mom - Nissan StoryI’ve always enjoyed creating parties and planning special events. Since my son was born, I’ve had a lot of opportunities to explore this interest further. There are birthday parties to plan, interactive play dates to create and all the mock parties I create for Moms & Munchkins. As you can imagine, putting together parties includes many shopping trips for inspiration. In a vehicle, I need a lot of room for my son and all of his supplies (diaper bag, stroller, car seat, etc.) plus room for all of my party purchases. Nissan Canada understands that being a cool mom means you need room for your children plus room for your adventures. Whether your adventures include a trip to the mountains or starting up your own mom and tots group, Nissan Canada wants to make it easy to get where you need to go.

The all-new seven-passenger 2013 Nissan Pathfinder is built for any adventure.
