I’m pretty sure that I was meant to live by a beach but I actually live in the opposite – the Canadian Prairies. Whenever I think of planning a family vacation, the beach is the first thing that comes to mind. My son saw his first real beach earlier this year and he loved it. We couldn’t keep him out of that water even though he had on a jacket & shoes! He was determined to feel that water on his toes.
Earlier this year I was on a flight to Toronto and I was sitting beside someone who grew up in Alabama. He was telling me that the white sand beaches of the Alabama Gulf Shore are the hidden treasure of the south. It was then that Alabama Gulf Shores & Orange Beach went onto my “must see” list! From the pictures I’ve seen, the beaches are breathtaking and it looks like a great family destination. I was also introduced to LuLu’s which sounds like an amazing restaurant that I’d love to check out. Delicious food on the beach, a play area for the kids, activities for the adults and so much more!
Beach Bag Essentials – What To Pack:
When we go to the beach, I have a list of beach bag essentials that come along with us:
- towels for drying off with a towels for sitting on
- hats
- sunscreen
- sunglasses
- sand toys
- water & water bottles
- snacks
- camera
- swimsuits
- water shoes
Once I settle down on the beach, I don’t want to have to turn around to grab something that I forgot to pack. This is why I like to have my beach bag essentials packed away and ready for our next adventure.
