This fun Cat In The Hat party includes pieces from several of your favorite Dr. Seuss books! A little decorating inspiration from The Lorax; some treat inspiration from One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish; some snack inspiration from Green Eggs and Ham and much more! I partnered with Birthday In A Box for this party so many of the supplies I’ve used here you can find in their shop. I wrote a full Dr Seuss Party article for them with lots of party details – be sure to check it out! In this post, I’ll share all the party photos with you but you’ll want to check out the full article on Birthday In A Box with many more ideas on DIY decorating, foods to serve, activities for kids and more.
Cat In The Hat Party:
There are so many fun ways to decorate a Cat In The Hat Party. You can stick with the standard white, red and blue colors, add in some red and white stripes (like the Cat In The Hat hat), then mix in some brighter colors into the foods and truffula trees (Lorax).
With a little Google searching, you can find some free printable Dr Seuss quotes to go in frames around your party area. I found this Dr Seuss printable frame on Teachers Pay Teachers. The printed words sign I found here.
Another fun idea for decorating is to have a photo booth. Birthday in a Box has some large cardboard standup displays that you could use in the photo booth. Pictures of the kids in the photo booth are a great idea to go along with the thank you cards after the party.
Cat In The Hat Party Foods:
For the party food, I mixed in some inspiration from many of Dr. Seuss’ classic books. You can get the themed food labels through Birthday In A Box (just pick the type of labels you want – plastic cover, sticker style, horizontal paper, small circles, etc – then specify what wording you want on each). I found the free printable Thing 1 and Thing Two cupcake circles here.
Cat In The Hat Party Table:
Setting the scene in the party eating area is easy with Cat In The Hat printed paper plates, napkins and plastic Cat In The Hat themed cups. These cups could also go home with the kids as part of the party favors.
The Lorax Trees are incredibly easy to make! Simply use a black and white striped straw and form a ball of cotton candy over top. That’s it! Easy, right? You can display them in “truffula seeds” (colorful jelly beans).
Cat In The Hat Party Favors:
There are so many fun ideas for Dr. Seuss party favors like:
- Dr. Seuss Books
- Dr. Seuss Stickers
- Dr. Seuss Pencils
- Dr. Seuss Erasers
- Dr. Seuss Notebooks
- red, white or blue candies
- cotton candy labeled as “truffula trees”
