As I’m sure you already know, I love planning parties. I start planning my son’s birthday parties months in advance and I always have party ideas swirling around in my head to create for Moms & Munchkins readers. As kids get older, they may start to feel as though they are “too old” for traditional birthday parties. I’m sure I went through a phase like that when I was a teen but I’m back to loving parties now! If you have a teen that wants to skip the balloons and party games, these teen dinner party ideas may be a great solution. All of the ideas pictured here were created with a teen girl in mind but you could easily take these ideas and turn them into something less pink.
I’m excited to announce that this Teen Dinner Party was featured in Calgary’s Child Magazine. I encourage you to visit their magazine for the full article but I’ll share all of the party photos with you here.
Teen Dinner Party Ideas:
For a teen dinner party, you can get as fancy or as casual as you want. I went somewhere in the middle with this party – cake stands, matching decorations and a bit of glitter while using paper plates and wooden utensils.
For food, I went with classic appetizers like onion rings, chicken fingers and cheese sticks. When cooking for teens, it’s better to go with the known favorites than trying to impress with a fancy meal.
For decorations, take a little inventory around your home and I’m sure you’ll find a few pieces that would work perfectly on your party table.
I love damask print so I used quite a bit throughout the party.
Instead of cake, try some cute cupcakes topped with creative toppers.
It can be difficult to think of a favor idea that teens will love but a gift certificate to the mall is something that most ages will love.
Thank you to the fabulous Leila of A Little Pixel for creating these party printables for us.
