This post on Creative Uses For Paper Straws is courtesy of our contributor Michelle…I have a thing for paper straws. What I really mean to say is; I have a bit of a problem. I have hundreds of them and I keep buying more! I don’t know why, they just make me so happy! Maybe it’s the bright colors and patterns? Or maybe it’s the nostalgic feeling I get when they get all soggy after being in my drink way too long? Whatever the reason for my obsession, they have certainly become a staple item in my party supply stash.
Paper straws are an inexpensive way to add a little extra detail to your everyday party items. These festive little gems are available in a wide variety of colors and patterns, making it easy to find the perfect design to match any party theme. At least that’s what I tell myself when I add more to my party supply stash.
Today, I’m sharing some of the many ways I like to use my beloved paper straws for parties.
There are so many uses for paper straws!
Cake Topper – Make a simple pennant banner with some baker’s twine and paper or Washi tape by attaching it to two paper straws. Or attach a paper sign to two paper straws to add flair to your cake!
Cake Pops – Carry on your party theme by dressing up your cake pops with paper straws!
Cupcake Toppers – Tired of the plain white lollipop sticks? Cut a paper straw in half for your cupcake toppers!
Popcorn Balls & Marshmallow Pops – Everything is better on a stick straw! Prevent sticky fingers and unnecessary messes by adding a paper straw to your popcorn balls or marshmallow pops!
Actual Drinking Straws – What? No, really. Just add a little strip of washi tape or scrap paper to make a straw flag and add it to a paper straw. It’s the simplest way to dress up your favorite glass or jar!
As you must know by now, I do in fact have a passion for paper straws. You should also know that my passions extend to cupcake wrappers and goodie bags. I’ll share more of that with you next time! Thank you for visiting!
