Selecting an Outfit for a Conference

Before having a child, my closet was filled with skirts, dresses and cute heels. Now that I’m a busy work-at-home mom, it seems like it has to be a special occasion just for me to change out of my sweatpants during the day! It is to the point that if my husband comes home and sees me in jeans and a t-shirt he says “Where did you go today?” because he knows that I don’t get dressed up to play at home with my son.

I’m heading to a conference in a few days so I have a great reason for a mini shopping spree for some new clothes. I don’t treat myself often so I was looking forward to buying something special for myself. Let me start by admitting something – I don’t have the best sense of fashion. Considering that I just told you that I spend most of my day in sweatpants, this probably comes as no surprise to you. Thankfully the fabulous ladies at Stella & Sway Boutique were happy to help me out.

Stella & Sway Boutique is a clothing store in Regina, SK that offers fashionable clothing, jewelry, shoes and other accessories. Their stylists are great for making suggestions, selecting items for you to try on and providing useful feedback.

Stella & Sway Boutique carries unique collections that are fashionable, wearable, and versatile. We believe fashion is an expression of your individual self and our team is committed to helping you find pieces that work for your personality and body type. Whether you are a fashionista or not, Stella & Sway is here to help you put your best foot forward.

Before I arrived at the store, I had my mind set on buying a dress for the evening event at the conference. The stylists helped me pick out a few styles to try on so they could get a better sense of my style and body type. My body is completely different since having my son so the styles of clothes that I used to be able to wear aren’t necessarily the right choices for me now. After trying on a few beautiful dresses, I decided that a skirt and blouse were probably more my style.

I knew that the first skirt I tried on was the one I was going to take home. It is an In Wear black lace skirt that sits up high on the waist line. It is so pretty and I feel really comfortable in it.

As for tops, I’m going to let you guess on which one I selected. I’ll show you the outfit I selected next week after the conference.

Stella & Sway Boutique

This was my first shopping experience working with an experienced stylist that could help me put outfits together. She had great tips about accessories, non-traditional ways to dress up a shirt using a belt and more!

I had an excellent experience at Stella & Sway Boutique and I know I’ll be shopping there again! If you’re in the area and you’re looking for a unique place to shop, you’ll want to stop in there. Whether you’re looking for something casual, something for work, or something fancy for a party, they’ll be able to help you select something that you feel great in. Watching the way they interacted with others at the store plus experiencing it for myself, I could see that they really want to help their customers find the clothing and accessories that make them feel fabulous.

  1. First of all, how exciting to get to work with a stylist. My dream!
All three are totally different styles. I like number 3 the best but the important question is, which one do YOU like best?
I guess I’ll find out in a few days. Looking forward to hanging out at Blissdom Canada!
