This Pumpkin Spice Latte Cake Pops tutorial is courtesy of our contributor Deanna of Dee’s-licious Desserts…Hello Fall, hello pumpkin spice everything! I love Fall!! Well actually, as I type this it’s 95* out and it doesn’t feel much like Fall. I live through all the Fall desserts and pretend its cool and windy out as I eat them in my tank top and shorts. There is one thing that is pumpkin spice and all the rage right now, it’s even trending on social media #PSL. Pumpkin Spice Latte…so why not make it into a cake pop? Make this with some pumpkin flavors and you’ll have everyone FALLing in love.
Pumpkin Spice Latte Cake Pops – Supplies:
- Cake pop dough
- Cake pop sticks
- Cake pop stand
- Orange candy melts
- Cinnamon
- Meringue powder
- Powdered sugar
- Water
- Cheerios
- Toothpick
- Sandwich baggie
- Piping tip of choice
First, shape your cake pop dough. You’ll want to make it a cylinder, and then cut the very top off.
Dip your cake pop stick into melted chocolate, then into the bottom of your shaped cake pop. The smooth cut part should be the top of the cake pop.
Make indentation with Cheerio, then dip Cheerio into the chocolate and place it back into the indentation. This will be the coffee cups handle.
Once that chocolate has set, you can dip your entire coffee cup into the melted chocolate. Tap of excess chocolate, and then using your toothpick scoop out the chocolate in the center of the Cheerio before the chocolate sets.
While waiting for the chocolate to set, get your royal icing made. Mix together 1 cup powdered sugar, one heaping tablespoon of meringue powder, and 2 tablespoons of warm water. Mix on medium with stand or hand mixer for about 5 minutes.
Transfer your royal icing to a baggie that is fitted with the piping tip.
Carefully pipe the royal icing onto the top of your coffee cup, the icing will be thick so take your time. If you rush you just might have a royal icing blow out.
Lastly, sprinkle with cinnamon. These will take about 15-20 minutes to crust over, and could take longer to completely set so if you plan on individually bagging them I would wait a couple hours.
Enjoy that PSL cake pop with a real PSL on a Fall day. Also, know that I am completely jealous of your cool Fall weather. See you next month!

OK, how cute are these little PSL cake pops of yours! These could not be more adorable. Love them! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the inspiration. I made these today for our churches Harvest Festival. I replaced half the milk in my vanilla cake recipe for espresso and added actual pumpkin spice. I wish I had taken a photo. They went really quickly and got rave reviews.
That’s great, Jane! Thank you for letting us know!
