This Lemon Cake Pops tutorial is courtesy of our contributor Deanna of Dee’s-licious Desserts…Hey again! Another month, another tutorial. When life throws lemons at you, make some lemon cake pops! It’s been a stressful month for us so I thought I would cheer up my family with these super kawaii lemons!

Lemon Cake Pops

Before we get to the full written instructions, here’s a cute sneak peek video:

Lemon Cake Pops – What You Need:

  • cake pop dough shaped into lemons
  • cake pop sticks
  • cake pop stand
  • yellow melted chocolate
  • white melted chocolate
  • toothpick
  • cocoa powder
  • edible marker
  • pink or red decorative dust (found at local cake decorating store or Michaels)
  • fluffy paint brush

First take a cake pop stick and dip it into your yellow melted chocolate, then insert the stick into the undipped lemons. If you have any cracks in the cake pops you can fill them in with yellow melted chocolate at this time.

Dip your cake pops in the yellow melted chocolate and tap off any extra chocolate.

Let that chocolate harden and get your cocoa powder, red dust, and edible marker ready.

Dip your brush in the cocoa powder and tap off the loose powder, then rub the brush into the sides of the lemon. I did 3 spots on one side and 2 on the other, all in different sizes.

Wipe off your brush well and dip into the red decorative dust. Rub the brush onto the lemons to make some pink cheeks.

Using your edible marker, add on face details. Make sure you go back in with a tiny bit of white chocolate one the eyes!

Ta-da! Super kawaii lemons – these girls are just too cute. I took an extra step and added some lashes to make them feminine.
