Summer isn’t over yet – the first day of fall is September 22 – so there’s still plenty of time for an ice cream party! It has been raining here for a week and the leaves are starting to fall off the trees but I’m not willing to pack my flip flops away just yet. I just had a pedicure last weekend so I’ll be extending flip flop season for as long as I can this year. If you’re trying to extend those summer days too then you’ll love this party theme – Ice Cream & Soda Shop Party!
This party has something for everyone – candy, soda, ice cream and cookies. What’s not to love, right? Guests can even combine the soda and ice cream to create some over-the-top ice cream floats. I’m not a big fan of floats but I’d love a big scoop of ice cream loaded with candy for my last cold treat of the summer season.
Ice Cream & Soda Shop Party:
This party is really easy to set up. You’ll want to start with some of your favorite candies for mixing in the ice cream or sprinkling on top of your ice cream float.
Then you’ll want a variety of sodas and ice cream for the guests to try. I’d recommend leaving the ice cream in the freezer until you’re ready to serve it. It’s hard to keep ice cream cold when it’s sitting out on the buffet table.
Then you’ll want some ice cream float cups, ice cream paper bowls, spoons and napkins. You can set out some other treats that go great with ice cream like brownies or cookies.
That’s it! Super simple, right? Between the first days of school, the start of sport classes and homework, there’s still time left over to set up this easy end of summer party.
