This post on homemade gift ideas for teachers is courtesy of our contributor Michelle…The first day of preschool for my youngest son is coming up soon. Since I never like to show up to an event empty handed, I decided to create a small gift for his teacher for Back to School Night. While I was at Staples stocking up on school supplies for my oldest sons, I decided to pick up some Sharpie Neon Markers that were on sale (all Sharpie Fine and Ultra Fine assortment packs and Sharpie Neon Marker packs are currently on sale at Staples through August 24th, 2014 “while supplies last”). I also grabbed a bright colored pack of Sharpie Gel Highlighters that were on sale for $2. Since every teacher needs highlighters and permanent markers in their school supply arsenal, I figured a personalized jar of Sharpies would be the perfect gift. Not only does it add a little something special to her desk, it also doubles as a name plate.
