This fall craft post is courtesy of our contributor Dawn…Today is the first day of fall! What better way to celebrate the changes in the leaves than with a fun project, a Fall Button Sign. It’s a great way to bring a little seasonal color to your kitchen counter or mantel and the kids will love to help you make it!
Fall Craft – Button Sign:
What you’ll need:
- 8” x 10” gessoed art board (found in the art supply section of any craft store)
- Buttons in various sizes
- 4 sheets of coordinating cardstock
- Spray adhesive
- Liquid glue (I like Aleene’s Tacky Glue)
- Glitter letters (mine are Meri Meri Alphabet Stickers)
Instructions:
Cut one color each of cardstock each into a 2” by 10 ¼” strip, 4 strips total.
Adhere each strip on the 8” side of the gessoed art board with spray adhesive. Don’t use liquid glue, your strips will not lay nice and smooth. Trim down the excess height to fit your board.
Apply your stickers.
This is where the kids come in…have them place the buttons on the board where desired, then attach with small dabs of liquid glue. If you are going to do this yourself, the process is faster if you hot glue them on.
Once the buttons are set, enjoy!
