It may not be Halloween for a couple of months but I’m already in the mood for Halloween treats! I can’t buy my Halloween candy too early or I end up eating it all before the trick-or-treaters arrive. You’ll never see my buying a full size chocolate bar but I can easily gobble up four minis in one sitting. I guess that kind of defeats the purpose of the mini chocolate bars! What can I say…I love chocolate! If you’re a chocolate lover too, you’ll love these Chocolate Candy Bar Cookies. This is a great way to use up that Halloween candy while freezing cookies for the Christmas season. Oh my goodness, did I really just talk about Halloween AND Christmas in August?!
Chocolate Candy Bar Cookies:
If you’re planning a Halloween party or special treat bags for friends, this is a fun & unique idea. Simply place 1/2 of a box of chocolate cake mix in a jar and top with mini candy bars. You can then attach baking instructions as shown below. Of course, if you’re giving a 1/2 box of cake mix, cut the full recipe below in half.
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 2 eggs
- ½ vegetable oil
- 2 cups chopped candy bars
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- In a large bowl, stir cake mix, eggs and vegetable oil until well mixed.
- Add candy bars and stir to mix well.
- Drop by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 8-9 minutes.
