Stepping into Cars Land is really like stepping right into a Cars movie! You will feel like you are right in Radiator Springs as you walk down Route 66 and admire the beautiful red rock scenery. It kind of feels like you’ve walked into an entirely different park because it feels like a real community. There is such a fun energy in Radiator Springs!
Inside Cars Land, there are 3 attraction rides and 3 dining options to enjoy. In this post I’ll tell you more about these attractions, dining options and other fun things to check out while in Cars Land. There will be loads of photos, some fun videos and more. There’s so much to share so let’s just jump right into it. Ka-Chow!
Cars Land Attractions – Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree:
If your little ones love Mater, they are going to love Mater’s Junkyard Jamoree! It’s tough not to giggle when sitting in the back of a tractor and getting pulled and spun around while listening to Mater’s music. Little ones must be at least 32 inches tall to ride this attraction. My son was 22 months old during our visit and he loved it.
Here’s a short video of us enjoying the ride.
Cars Land Attractions – Luigi’s Flying Tires:
Luigi’s Flying Tires is a ride that let’s you have a lot of control. As you sit in a spare tire, you’ll be raised by a cushion of air and you can lean various ways in the ride to direct your tire when to go. It’s kind of like bumper cars except you sit in a spare tire and you float on air – how cool does that sound?! Little ones must be at least 32 inches tall for this ride.
Here’s a short video of us flying around on our spare tire.
Cars Land Attractions – Radiator Springs Racers:
Radiator Springs Racers seems to be the most popular attraction in Cars Land. When we were there, the wait time for the ride was as long as 2.5 hours. Thankfully this ride also offers a FASTPASS option where you can get a ticket with a specific time to come back and join the shorter FASTPASS waiting line.
You must be at least 40 inches tall to ride this attraction so my husband and I took turns waiting outside the line with our son. We used a Rider Swap card which means that one parent can wait with the children while the other parent enjoys the ride. You then switch so the other parent gets to enjoy the ride with little or no wait time. Ask a Disney Cast Member at the entrance to the ride for a Rider Swap card.
This ride is a lot of fun and well worth a bit of a wait. You start off with a leisurely drive through Radiator Springs to see some of the Cars characters and settings from the movies. Near the end of the ride you race against another car across Ornament Valley. I’ve included a video of a portion of the ride. Yes, that is me screaming a little & laughing throughout the ride! It was a lot of fun and one of the highlights of our trip.
Meeting Mater & Lightning McQueen in Cars Land:
While inside Cars Land we had the opportunity to meet Lightning McQueen and Mater! My son was so excited that he actually bit my shoulder in excitement. Silly little guy! There are Disney Cast Members available in the photo area (outside of Cozy Cone Motel) to help with photos so you can get your whole family into the photo with either Lightning McQueen or Mater.
If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of Lightning McQueen and Mater driving down the streets of Radiator Springs!
Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land:
At the Cozy Cone Motel, you’ll find outdoor seating areas along with big cone snack areas like popcorn, frozen beverages, ice cream and more. It’s a great place to sit and watch the traffic of Radiator Springs go by.
Fillmore’s Taste-In in Cars Land:
For a quick & healthy snack, pop by Fillmore’s Taste-In for fresh fruit, bottled beverages and juices.
Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Land:
For a special dining experience, try Flo’s V8 Cafe for home-style dishes like turkey, beef and pork options (all with my husband’s favourite side dish – gravy!) and vegetable side dish options. They also have a kids menu and house-made pies. There is seating available outside by the gas pumps – the perfect place to sit and watch the action in Radiator Springs.
Cars Land at Night:
If you love the atmosphere of Cars Land during the day, just wait until you see it all lit up at night! It’s really unbelievable to see how much it looks like the Radiator Springs featured in the Cars movies.
We had so much fun in Cars Land that we visited it about 5 different times during our weekend stay in the Disneyland Resort. So when making your Disneyland travel plans, make sure to highlight Cars Land located inside Disney California Adventure.

Wow, those are such great photos! Our family is going to Orlando in September and my one regret is that Cars Land is not there 🙁 But I still know it will be soooo magical. Looks like you had fun 🙂
Oh, you’ll have so much fun in Orlando! I love that each park is so unique yet still has that overall Disney magic about it.
I love Cars Land and how “real” it feels. We visited last year and the imagineers did an amazing job of nailing it!
