With the warm weather finally here, it’s tough to get us to stay inside the house! We’re always heading out on adventures to parks around the city, teaching our son to use his bike, going for walks and barbequing on the back deck. We’re tackling a lot of renovation projects this year and one of those is a huge covered deck in the backyard. We’re excited to enjoy our family meals out there soon! We’re always careful to protect our skin from the sun and our chicken doesn’t go topless either! This month we tried a different twist on our of our favorites – BBQ Chicken Pizza.
BBQ Chicken Pizza:
We usually smother our chicken in some sort of marinade or BBQ sauce but this time we took that delicious chicken and added it to a pizza on the grill!
I always use a prepared pizza crust instead of making one from scratch. For this recipe we used BBQ sauce as the base, then topped it with our BBQ chicken from the grill, cheese, sliced green peppers and fried crispy onions. The BBQ sauce we chose (chipotle) was a little spicy so we’ll be trying something more mild next time. Even with the extra kick, it was still delicious and a recipe that we’re excited to try again soon! Simply grill the pizza until the cheese melts. I’d recommend putting the pizza on the upper grill inside the BBQ so you don’t burn the bottom of the crust.
We purchased our delicious Raised By A Canadian Farmer chicken from Sobey’s while using the Shopping with Chicken.ca app. I love this app because I don’t have to worry about getting to the store only to find out I left my shopping list on the fridge!
