If we were to win a large sum of money, my husband and I would have a difficult time agreeing on how to use it since I’m a spender and he’s a saver. I’d love to indulge in some fun purchases and he’d like to hide it away for a rainy day fund. I think it’s great that we can balance each other out this way. He teaches me about being more frugal and I teach him that occasionally indulging in something fun doesn’t mean we’ll drain our bank account. After hearing of the huge ROYALE Golden Kittens promotion (including a grand prize of $50,000), we started to discuss what we’d do with all that money.
Not surprisingly, my husband’s first answer was to put some away in savings. While he was dreaming of interest accumulating in a bank account, I was dreaming of vacations and home renovations!
The last time I went on a tropical vacation was three years ago when a friend and I traveled to Punta Cana. I miss the beautiful beaches, the palm trees, the island food – it was all so much fun! Today Punta Cana is 29°C and it is -22°C in Regina, SK. I’m sure you understand why I’m dreaming of palm trees and beaches!
Since we’re on the topic of cold weather, this is a recent picture of my backyard. Can you see why I’m dreaming of palm trees now? Another thing I’d love to spend the $50,000 on is a sunroom for our backyard. I’d love a nice open area with ground to ceiling windows that slide open with shaded screens. I’d fill my sunroom with wicker furniture and a cozy porch swing. This would be the perfect way to enjoy the summer heat while sitting in the shade and avoiding the bugs. Think of all the cute parties I could host in my new little sunroom!
Do you ever tape things to your wall? I wanted to take a picture of a party banner on the wall in my office area and I used double-sided tape. Once I removed the tape, the paint started coming off with it. I quickly learned that painters tape would have been the best choice for my little project. So, one more thing to add to my wishlist is repainting my office. With $50,000 I don’t have to stop at the office – I can repaint the entire house! 
I believe in the power of kindness and doing good deeds for others. If I were to win the $50,000 from the ROYALE Golden Kittens promotion, I would want to give some of that to our local humane society to help the little animals in their care. We’ve had three cats and they’ve all been adopted. My husband and mom actually had to tell me not to keep visiting the shelters because I always wanted to bring another pet home. How could I not want to bring all those furry faces home?!

If we won $50,000 we would donate some, then put half of what’s left in savings and the other half in our savings that is going towards building a garage.
We are having the same issue with paint coming off our walls. I think as the paint gets older it comes off easier, if this makes any sense. Here’s to palm trees.

Wow! If we won $50,000, we’d donate some, put some into savings, pay off some bills, and hopefully take our parents’ on a little trip somewhere with all their grandkids. This said, our old farm house could use some TLC too. LOL!
