This Peppa Pig cake pops tutorial is courtesy of our contributor Deanna…Peppa Pig! [SNORT] So I wasn’t quite sure what to do this month for a tutorial, so I asked my 3 year old and he squealed “PEPPA PIG!” So, Peppa it is. Michael is absolutely in love with this cartoon so I was happy to make this for him.
Peppa Pig Cake Pops – What You’ll Need:
- cake pop sticks
- cake pops shaped into Peppa’s head (picture below)
- light Pink chocolate
- dark(er) pink chocolate
- white chocolate
- black chocolate
- toothpick
- red pear dust and brush
Shaping Peppa’s head is simply just a round cake pop with a cylinder nose. It’s a lot easier than I expected it to be. Make sure you add her ears!
Dip your stick in chocolate and then into Peppa’s head, make sure that cake pop will stay tight because it’s a bit heavy. I used more chocolate to secure it.
Dip Peppa into light pink chocolate, tap off extra chocolate, and let harden. Now, I used dark chocolate cake only because it’s what I had on hand. I suggest using light colored cake when making these because you can clearly see the chocolate cake through the light pink chocolate.
Once that chocolate has set, you can go in with that edible pearl dust (found at local cake supply or craft store) and a brush and give Peppa those rosy cheeks.
Next, go in with the darker pink chocolate and draw on her nose and mouth details. I used a toothpick.
Lastly, take that white and black chocolate and make her eyes. Next time I’ll totally make her eyes a tad larger.
And there you have it…Peppa Pig cake pops!
“Bing bong bing, bing bong boo, bing bong bingly, bungly, boo!”
