This Ice Cream Scoop Cake Pops tutorial is by our contributor DeannaThe summer days are already upon us here in Vegas. One of our favorite things to do when we aren’t taking a dip in the pool is going out for ice cream. My favorite? A chocolate scoop with fudge and sprinkles. That was my inspiration for this months cake pop tutorial.

Before we get to the step-by-step details, here’s a short & sweet video of the process:

Ice Cream Scoop Cake Pops – What You’ll Need:

  • milk chocolate candy melts
  • hot fudge
  • your favorite sprinkles
  • red sixlets or similar type of round red candy
  • cake pop sticks
  • cake pop dough
  • cake pop stand

First roll your cake pop dough into balls. Dip your sticks into the melted chocolate then into the ball. Let that chocolate harden.

Next, dip the cake pop completely into the melted milk chocolate candy melts. Set into cake pop stand to let harden.

After your cake pops have hardened, take your fudge and apply a small amount to the very top of your cake pop. Help it run down the sides. You don’t want to warm this fudge or it will melt your chocolate.

Add your sprinkles and top it with a red candy.

How cute and easy are these? I popped mine in the freezer for about 15 minutes so that the fudge wasn’t so sticky. It’ll stay soft but won’t be so messy if you let the finished pops sit for a few hours before serving. Enjoy your chocolate ice cream cake pops!
