I love Halloween minus the haunted houses. I’ve never seen the entertainment in being chased through a house with chainsaws or whatever they do in there. My husband loves them but I refuse to have a date night in a haunted house. While he’s enjoying the spooky side of Halloween, I’ll wait for him in the car and eat a bag of Halloween chocolates. {wink} My little guy is at an age now where he is starting to show excitement for Halloween. He’s dressing up as a squirrel this year and he looks absolutely adorable! Halloween can be a bit tricky for us because of food allergies so we wanted to do something special for him at home and we came up with these fun Halloween party ideas for kids.
We started with a trip to Target to pick up some supplies. They have so many family-friendly supplies for Halloween! We also picked up a few things from the kitchen department like a T-Fal ActiFry (I am in love with this) and babycakes cake pop and mini donut makers.
Halloween Party Ideas For Kids:
To set the scene for our Halloween dinner, I used a plain white tablecloth with a bat table runner from Target.
We found some great black plastic plates and I put some bright orange napkins under them to add a bit of colour to the table. The skeleton treat cups are so cute and they were perfect for holding our “skeleton bones” – french fries. I used mini Halloween cupcake wrappers to hold the ketchup and we added some chicken nuggets for our meal.
I found cute Halloween-themed straws at Target and I dressed them up a little bit by adding a Halloween sticker to each.
Desserts always taste better in a mini form – I think it’s because I tell myself I can eat more than one! We made mini chocolate donuts and orange cake pop balls for dessert.
I love the bowls we found at Target – a spider web bowl for the donuts and a creepy hand bowl for the cake pops.
The setup was so fun and perfect for all ages. We can use most of the Halloween supplies over again next year for another spooktacular Halloween dinner party.

ThankFALL:
Target is celebrating everything we have to be #ThankFALL for this year. After an incredibly hard year of illness with my husband last year, I’m thankful for my family’s health. Last year we missed Halloween because my son was sick & in the hospital and then we missed Christmas because my husband was in critical condition in the hospital. To say last year was difficult would be an understatement! Everyone is healthy & happy now and we look forward to making up for those missed holidays this year.
Tell Target what you’re #ThankFALL for and you could win a $250 Target gift card!
THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

Great ideas! Love the table settings!
Thank you, Michelle!
I’m completely intrigued by that Actifry machine! Now that might actually be a single use device I might be willing to find room for in my kitchen.
We’re obsessed! We’ve had it for over a week now and have made homemade fries about 5 times now. It’s awesome!
Awesome – these look delicious and I love how your table came together!
Thank you so much, Layne!
