This Cookie Cake Pops tutorial is courtesy of our contributor Deanna of Dee’s-licious DessertsEveryone is getting ready to head back to school if they havent already, and I’m still playing with cake pops. My son is still too young for school so we decided to skip the typical back to school cake pop and go with a super cute chocolate chip cookie! Lets get started.

Cookie Cake Pops

Cookie Cake Pops – What You’ll Need:

  • cake pop dough
  • light brown chocolate (I mixed milk chocolate and white candy melts)
  • dark brown chocolate
  • cake pop sticks
  • toothpick
  • sandwich bag
  • wax paper
  • edible Marker
  • edible red shimmer dust

First, take some of that darker chocolate and put it into a sandwich bag. Stick it into the microwave on medium power for about 30 seconds and then in 10 second intervals until the chocolate is melted. Snip the corner and make dollops of small chocolate chips onto your wax paper. Put these aside to dry and harden.

Next, form your cake pop dough into balls then flatten them a bit. Dip the sticks into chocolate, then into the cake pops. Fill in any cracks with chocolate to ensure a smooth coating.

Dip your cake pops into the lighter chocolate. I simply mixed some white chocolate into my milk chocolate to lighten it up.

While still wet, add the chocolate chips you made earlier.

Using the shimmer dust and edible marker (you can find these at your local craft or food decorating store), add some eyes, a smile, and rosy cheeks.
