As the mother of an energetic three year old, I don’t often have the opportunity for a relaxing night out with my best girlfriends. With the finale of The Bachelorette airing on July 28th, I had an excellent reason to gather the girls for a fun night out. Since I don’t get out for ladies night often, I knew this had to be the ultimate girls night out. Host something at home in my own basement? Not this time! I wanted to fly to Calgary to enjoy some quality time with some of my best girlfriends. I spent most of my 20’s living in Calgary but I moved away in 2007 and I hadn’t really been back for a visit. I was overdue for some girl chat, cupcakes and a relaxing spa treatment.
Our ladies night was held in the Sheraton Cavalier Calgary. It’s an absolutely gorgeous hotel and the location was perfect as it’s close to the airport but still offers beautiful views of Calgary’s downtown skyline. I arrived about an hour before my first guests were scheduled to arrive so I took a tour through the hotel.
There are several dining options – Carver’s Steakhouse, Colors Bistro, Lobby Lounge and Henry’s Pub. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner with your sweetheart or a place to watch the game with your buddies, you’ll find what you need in the Sheraton Cavalier Calgary.
The 24-hour fitness center has everything you need to get a total body workout while away from home. It’s a great way to start your morning or energize your body after a long day of travel.
Sheraton Cavalier Calgary – Oasis River Country Water Park:
I arrived a few hours before our party was scheduled to start so that I could visit with one of my oldest friends while her kids enjoyed the water park. The water park is huge (3,000 square feet) with two waterslides, a kiddie pool, a main pool, a hot tub and whirlpools. My friend and I sat in the snack bar (Splash!) so we could watch the kids play while we gobbled down some delicious nachos. The kids had a great time and were already starting to plan their next visit to the water park.
Sheraton Cavalier Calgary – King Suite:
For our little party, I had planned for Feel Fabulous Mobile Spa to come in to do some mini pedicures for us while we watched The Bachelorette Finale on TV. We needed enough space for our spa treatments & food while still being able to see the TV. The King Suite was perfect for us! It’s such a gorgeous room and had plenty of space for each of us to relax.
The Bachelorette Finale Party:
A party just wouldn’t be a party without delicious food! We ordered in some pizza for supper but made sure to save room for dessert. We had delicious cupcakes from Cakeworks (walking distance from the hotel), donuts that I turned into diamond rings using this free printable diamond template, and Sixlets (candy coated chocolates).
Lina of PartyStock helped us set the scene with Glitz Red Plates, Napkins Ring, Utensils and Black Foil Stamped Napkins.
While watching TV, visiting and eating, we all had mini pedicures with adorable nail art by Feel Fabulous Mobile Spa. They are always such a pleasure to work with! They have adult spa parties as well as parties tailored to tweens, teens and Mommy & Me spa dates.
Sheraton Cavalier Calgary – A Good Night’s Rest:
My son has been a co-sleeping since he was 15 months old so it seems like I always end up with toddler feet in my face at some point each night. The Signature Sweet Sleeper Bed in the King Suite was so comfortable! It was difficult to get out in the morning but I had a plane to catch and a Club Lounge to check out so I couldn’t hide in bed for too long.
The bathroom is really spacious and the tub is huge!
Sheraton Cavalier Calgary – Club Lounge:
Along with the King Suite comes access to the club lounge with complimentary food & drinks being served throughout the day (breakfast & evening appetizers). I made sure to stop by there in the morning before catching the free shuttle to the airport.
I had a fabulous evening with my girlfriends and I hope we don’t have so many years between our visits again. The hotel was such an excellent choice and I’d highly recommend it both for family travel or business travel. My friend’s daughter (14 years old) has already started requesting a party just like this one for her birthday in November!
