Easter Bunny Proof

There is a crazy rumor floating around that the Easter Bunny may not be real. I know what you are thinking – that’s nonsense – and I couldn’t agree more! Really, you can’t believe everything you read in the tabloids. For those that still don’t believe that the Easter Bunny exists, I’m here to share with you some stories of Easter Bunny proof. Easter Bunny Proof

First of all, a photo never lies. If this photo of the Easter Bunny looking in our fridge for carrots doesn’t prove that he exists, I don’t know what does! On a side note, it’s best to leave carrots out for the Easter Bunny so that he doesn’t have to look through your fridge for a snack. You could try this fun craft of creating an Easter Bunny plate.

Easter Bunny Proof:

I know we’re not the only family that has ever seen proof left in our home on Easter morning. I know because I’ve heard stories from trusted sources. Want to know how to find evidence of the Easter Bunny’s visit? Here are some things to watch out for:

  • A trail of jelly beans is always a sure sign that the Easter Bunny has been to your house. Don’t eat the brown ones! I know they may look like chocolate covered raisins but it’s best not to touch the brown jelly beans.
  • The Easter Bunny’s favourite food is carrots and I’m sure he’d appreciate you leaving some out for him on the night before Easter. If you find little chunks or shreds of carrots by your plate in the morning, that’s a sure sign of Easter Bunny proof.
  • Whether it’s snow or mud, bunny footprints in your house will let you know that he stopped by for a visit. You could even follow these around the house to see everywhere that he stopped.
  • If you want proof that the Easter Bunny exists, don’t be shy to ask him for proof yourself! Your children can write a Thank You note to leave for the Easter Bunny along with a request for an autograph.

Have your little ones ever witnessed Easter Bunny proof? If so, what did they find?

Free Easter Printables

Easter is quickly approaching! What fun activity ideas do you have planned for your little ones? For us, this will be the first year that the Easter Bunny stops by our house for a special egg hunt. Last year he just left some special treats but no egg hunt since my son wasn’t at the walking stage yet. If you are still looking for some fun Easter ideas, here are some free Easter printables – mini chocolate bar wrappers and scavenger hunt clue cards – that you could use during your celebrations! Simply click on the photos to access the free printables.

Free Easter Printables – Mini Chocolate Bar Wrappers:

Free Easter Printables - Mini Wrappers

These free Easter mini chocolate bar wrappers fit over the mini Hershey chocolate bars. These would be cute hidden inside plastic Easter eggs or on their own during your own “practice” egg hunts before the Easter Bunny arrives!

Free Easter Printables – Scavenger Hunt Clue Cards:

Free Easter Printables - Scavenger Hunt

In the days leading up to Easter, you can practice your best egg finding skills with these free printable Easter scavenger hunt cards. Simply print the cards and write clues on each listing where to find the next clue. You can include riddles, trivia questions (you can find some rabbit trivia here) and more!

Here are a couple of scavenger hunt clues:

What is a bunny’s favorite food and where could you find some of this in the house? Answer: carrots and in the fridge so the next clue could be hidden inside the bottom drawer of the fridge.

Where could this hare go for some grooming? Answer: the bathroom so the next clue could be hidden in the drawer where the hair products are usually kept.

Indigo Giveaway and a LEGO DUPLO Promotion

My husband is a bookworm. If he had the chance to create his own “man cave” at home, he’d have a big comfortable chair and a bookshelf rather than a big screen TV and a mini fridge. One of our favourite activities with our little guy is our bedtime routine of reading and snacks – and not just because it means bedtime is near and we’ll have a few quiet moments to relax! With our love of books, we spend a lot of time wandering around Chapters Indigo. If you love Indigo as well, I have an exciting giveaway announcement to tell you about! What would you buy with an Indigo gift card? Perhaps some LEGO DUPLO toys during their 20% off promotion? Keep reading to learn more!

LEGO DUPLO Promotion

My little guy loves the Kids Play Area in Indigo and he always goes right for the train set. In the Kids Play Area, there is a great combination of both books and fun activity ideas. There are always so many great classic books to choose from along with some of the most popular characters from children’s movies and television programs. Did you know that Indigo also has a large selection of board games? They are like a one-stop shop for a family fun night!

LEGO DUPLO Promotion

Indigo is very family-friendly and they encourage families to share the love of reading. They have a fun schedule of in-store events like the story time and craft event that we stopped in at yesterday. During this 30-minute event, a sales associate reads a story with the kids and then leads them through a fun craft related to the book. The starting age group for this event 2 years old and my little guy isn’t quite there yet. We stopped by anyways to encourage him to participate but he had ants in his pants to get back to the Kids Play Area. We’ll certainly try again when he’s a little older. The kids that were participating in the event were having a great time listening to the story and making fun crafts to take home. Check your local store for a listing of event dates and times.

LEGO DUPLO Promotion:

This month at Indigo, they are running a special promotion on LEGO DUPLO products. Until March 31st, all LEGO DUPLO products are 20% off. Yes, that includes toys and books! You can stock up on some birthday gifts or perhaps pass the message along to the Easter Bunny. How fun would it be to find LEGO DUPLO characters and pieces in those little plastic Easter eggs?

Craft Time with Lysol’s New Contest

Time to get out that glue & glitter! Lysol has an exciting new contest and they want to see the artistic masterpieces from your little ones! Simply let your kids use their creativity to design their own dispenser and you could win a mini tablet. That’s right – a fun craft with your kids PLUS a chance to win a mini tablet daily starting March 12th (contest closes April 8th)! Want to see the Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap Dispenser that my little guy designed? We used a lot of glue so it’s a good thing that we had some new hand soap nearby!

Lysol No-Touch Contest

Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap Dispenser Masterpiece:

My son is 22 months old so he’s just getting to the stage of being interested in crafts. I knew this would be a fun but messy project so I set out a plastic tablecloth before we got started. I set out some fluffy pom pom balls, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, feathers, glue, small plastic figurines and some glitter glue. Since craft time is a new concept to him, I had to guide him a little bit.

Lysol No-Touch Contest

Lysol No-Touch Contest

One recommendation I’d pass along to you is that the glitter glue doesn’t stick well to the dispenser so I’d recommend your glitter glue creations go on something like foam pieces and then glue those to the dispenser.

Lysol No-Touch Contest

Need more inspiration? Here are some fun creation ideas you could suggest to your little ones:

  • Does your child have a favourite animal? You could use furry fabric, foam pieces and googly eyes to create this animal.
  • Does your child have an imagination that’s out of this world? Green foam pieces, green pipe cleaners and a handful of googly eyes could turn into a unique alien creature!
  • If your child could travel anywhere in the world, where would they go? A dream of a Hawaiian vacation could turn into a mini Hawaiian Tiki Statue with a flower lei.
  • Does your little one dream of being a princess? Pink foam pieces, glitter glue and a mini princess tiara could make a beautiful creation.
  • Does your child love to build forts? Some Popsicle sticks, brown paint and fake leaves could turn into mini tree house.

Feeling inspired? Just a few things to keep in mind while creating your masterpiece:

  • Be careful not to cover the sensor on the dispenser.
  • Your photos cannot include photo manipulation
  • Your creations cannot mimic cartoons, gaming, video, book, TV and/or other licensed properties.
  • Your creations cannot contain any visible logos or trade-marks.

Ready to get started? Visit Lysol’s Facebook page for instructions, the full set of rules and a great $5 off coupon!

Your kids will love washing their hands with the new Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap Dispenser that they designed themselves. With the easy to change refill, you can use this no-touch hand soap dispenser again and again! I look forward to seeing your creations!

Disclosure – I am participating in the Kid Who Touches Everything blog tour by Mom Central Canada on behalf of Lysol. I received compensation as a thank you for participating and for sharing my honest opinion. The opinions on this blog are my own.

Toy Story Premieres on Disney Junior Canada

For years people have been telling me what a good movie Toy Story is but I hadn’t actually watched any of the Toy Story movies until I had my son. We started watching the series in reverse (I’m not sure why) so Toy Story 3 was the first one we watched and we were hooked! I can’t count how many times we’ve watched it; in fact, I hear it on in the background right now. We then watched Toy Story 2 and loved that one as well. Can you believe that we haven’t watched the original Toy Story yet? We’ll soon get our chance because on March 16, 2013 at 6pm ET, the original Toy Story premieres on Disney Junior Canada! We are really excited to watch this commercial-free premiere and I can guarantee you that our PVR will be set! We’ve already started planning for a mini Toy Story party with special snacks.

Even if you don’t currently have the Disney Junior channel, you can still watch the special premiere on March 16th because Disney Junior is on free preview* all month long! You can use this guide to find out which channel to watch for your free month long preview.

Peeps Easter Party Ideas

Marshmallow Peeps are one of my favorite Easter treats so when I saw the printable Peeps party package from Princess & The Peas, I knew I wanted to put a little party together! These Peeps Easter party ideas include decoration tips, food ideas, games and more.

Peeps Easter Party Ideas Full

Peeps Easter Party Ideas – Decorations:

Pastel colors are perfect for a Peeps party. You can incorporate these through streamers, balloons, tablecloths, tissue poufs and more. The printable cupcake circles in this party package can be used on top of cupcakes, as part of a napkin ring, on goody bags and more!

Other Easter decorations that would fit well with this party are a small white picket fence, plastic Easter grass, white pedestal cake stands and this cute sign welcoming guests to the party.

Peeps Easter Party Ideas Sign

Peeps Easter Party Ideas – Treats & Drinks:

Nothing beats marshmallow dipped in chocolate! You can easily create cute “Peep Pops” by dipping the bottom of the Peeps into chocolate and placing a kabob stick in the bottom.

I made these cute Easter Peep cupcakes last year as well (you can find out how here) with a topping of coconut, green food coloring, German Chocolate marshmallows, jelly beans and Peep bunnies.

Peeps Easter Party Ideas Pops

The printable party package also comes with wrappers for mini chocolate bars that can be placed in a bowl on the party table or as a treat in goody bags.

Peeps Easter Party Ideas Wrappers

These adorable drink labels can be placed on water bottles, pastel colored juice or pop, or plastic drink cups.

Peeps Easter Party Ideas Drinks

For more Easter Peep food ideas, you can check out the cute recipes on their website. My favorite are the PEEPSicles!

Peeps Easter Party Ideas – Activities:

An Easter party wouldn’t be complete without a fun scavenger hunt! For this Hide & Peep game, simply hide marshmallow Peeps wrapped and placed in plastic eggs. For a fun craft idea, kids can design their own mini Easter basket to store their Peep treats. They could start with a plain plastic sand bucket and decorate it with feathers, ribbon, glitter glue and other craft supplies.

Peeps Easter Party Ideas – Favors:

These printable Easter treat bag favor labels can top bags filled with Easter Peeps or Peep S’more kits (graham crackers, Peeps and a chocolate bar).
