Baby Shower Word Game

Baby shower games are a great way to get your guests interacting at a party. This Baby Shower Word Game is perfect for even the shyest guests. Simply print the free printable game and cut out each card. Playing the game is simple!

Split your guests into two teams and each team takes a turn choosing one player to select a card. So, first up is Team A. Team A’s selected player for this round randomly selects a card. That person must get their team to guess the word in blue without saying any of the words in pink. As an example, look at this first card. The player must get their team to say “Diaper” without saying “Pampers”, “Huggies”, “Poop”, “Pee” or “Change”. So you could say “This is something the baby wears every day” or “Something stinky”.

Baby Shower Word Game

One player from the opposite team must watch over the “reader’s” shoulder to make sure they don’t say any of the words in the pink section. If their team guesses the right answer within 10 seconds, they win a prize. The 10 second countdown starts once the reader has finished giving the clue. If Team A doesn’t guess the correct answer, Team B gets one chance to guess the right answer. Why only 10 seconds? The short time limit gets guests shouting out funny answers to try to beat the clock. If guests have too much time to guess, they’d likely get every answer right and you want to keep them on their toes!

For this Baby Shower Word Game, keep in mind that you can’t say variations of the secret word itself. For example, if the secret word is “Car Seat” you can’t say either “Car” or “Seat”. Also, if one of the pink words is “Play” you can’t use other variations of the word like “Playing” or “Played” or “Player”.

Elephant Baby Shower

A baby elephant theme is such a cute idea for a baby shower. It’s a theme that is gender neutral and it can be mixed with additional themes such as a Circus Elephant; Thai Elephant or Jungle Elephant. Here I’ll share general elephant baby shower ideas for a baby girl that can easily be modified for a shower for a little boy. All of the printable party supplies featured here are by Just a Little Sparkle.

Elephant Baby Shower

Elephant Baby Shower – Invitations:

Elephants love peanuts so an elephant baby shower could include wording like “our little peanut”. We all know that elephants have really big feet so a cute twist on an elephant invitation would be to talk about your child’s tiny toes. There are many ways to incorporate cute wording into your invitation or you could stay cute & simple with elephant images on the invitation.

Elephant Baby Shower

Elephant Baby Shower – Decorations:

For any type of elephant theme, grey is an excellent accent color. For a baby shower for a little girl, grey and pink colors can be incorporated through a banner, tablecloth, balloons, backdrop, tissue balls, napkins, utensils and more. You can also use these colors in a variety of prints like floral, chevron, polka dots, stripes and more.

The printable cupcake circles (featured in this party package) can be used in a variety of different ways such as:

  • Pair the circle with a ribbon and create napkin rings.
  • A thin strip of patterned paper and a cupcake circle can be placed around mason jars filled with pink lemonade.
  • Using a single hole punch, punch a hole in the top and bottom or the circle and then thread a paper straw through it for cake pops or drinking straws.
  • Use double-sided tape to attach the circles to disposable food containers like plastic appetizer cups, push pops, or take-out containers
  • Print some on sticker paper and use these as a seal on the invitation envelopes.

Candy vases and porcelain cake trays are beautiful decor pieces that you can use again and again at parties.

Elephant Baby Shower – Food & Drinks:

For an elephant baby shower theme, you could incorporate items such as circus-themed, Thai or tropical. Some delicious ideas include:

  • Marshmallow peanuts
  • Pink cake pops with peppermint extract in the cake mix
  • Spring rolls in a Thai sauce
  • Coconut flavored cupcakes
  • Elephant ears (large pieces of deep fried dough sprinkled with icing sugar)

Pink lemonade in mason jars is a cute idea for a baby shower for a girl. Other ideas include sparkling juice in champagne glasses or a tropical juice bar.

Little Man Baby Shower

A Little Man Baby Shower is such an adorable idea! I love all of the little mustaches and bow-ties. There’s just something so cute about a little baby in a bow-tie! Here I’ll share ideas for invitations, decorations, food, activities and favors. At the end of this post, I’ll provide you with links to the party suppliers featured in this post so you know where to go to find your own supplies. So grab your paper, pen and monocle and get ready for some fun ideas!

Little Man Baby Shower – Invitations:

Your Little Man Baby Shower invitations could include wording such as “Mustache Bash”, “Black Tie & Diaper Event” or “Oh Joy…It’s a Boy”. You could invite your guests to come dressed for the occasion in a fun tie – you could even award prizes for the most original tie! Matching thank you cards are an important item to consider when planning your invitation.

Little Man Baby Shower Invitations

Little Man Baby Shower – Decorations:

For a Little Man Baby Shower, you can go with any dark colors (like green and blue) in cute prints like plaid, checkered, chevron, stripes, etc. You’ll want to add a lot of mustaches around the party area. You can do this through:

  • mustache straws
  • bottle labels
  • mustaches on white helium balloons
  • edible mustache toppers on cupcakes

Bow-ties and neckties are another cute accent for a Little Man theme. You can welcome guests to the party with a sign similar to “Welcome to the Little Man Mustache Bash! Please grab a tie.” along with ties for guests to wear at the party. Your local thrift store is a great place to buy inexpensive ties.

Paper bow-ties can be used as napkin rings and in between words on a customized banner.

Little Man Baby Shower – Food & Drinks:

Finger foods are always popular at a baby shower but a feast for a Little Man theme can include some more hearty meals such as:

  • MANwiches (large sandwiches cut into slices)
  • Bow-Tie Pasta Salad (this Greek Salad would be perfect with bow-tie pasta)
  • Cigars (large pretzel rods dipped in chocolate and rolled in red sprinkles)
  • Lumberjack Stew (any sort of hearty beef stew)

Invite guests to the drink area with a fun “Wet Your Whiskers” sign. A fun drink for a Little Man Baby Shower is beer – Root Beer that is! Personalized labels are a cute touch along with some mustache straws. You’ll always want to include water for those guests who don’t like pop or sugary drinks.

Little Man Baby Shower Drinks

Little Man Baby Shower – Activities:

Since a Little Man Baby Shower is filled with mustaches and ties, a fun activity idea is to plan a photo booth area. This photo area can include props such as mustaches, ties, glasses, walking canes, top hats, fishing gear and even some feather boas for those that choose to dress like little ladies. A simple “Say Cheese” sign is perfect for welcoming guests to your photo booth area. Be sure to have someone assigned to take pictures! This would be a great addition to thank you cards after the party.

As your guests leave the party, some great party favors are:
